Introduction
Dwaraka is situated in the extreme west of the Indian state of Gujarat in the Saurashtra peninsula on the Arabian Sea. Dwarka is an important city for Hindu Pilgrimage. The city is famous for the Dwarkadish temple or Jagat Mandir. Dwarka has fine stretches of beach and though crowded by pilgrims one can always find quiet spots too. Large number of birds could be seen on the coast. There is a small island covered with temples, a white beach, coral reefs and extensive marine life. Dolphins and porpoise can be seen surfacing to breathe, sea turtles, octopus, star fish, sea urchins etc. inhabit the beach.

How to get there
- Air :-Jamnagar is the nearest airport and its 145 kms away from Dwarka.
- Rail:-Dwaraka is a station on the Ahmedabad-Okha broad-gauge railway line, about 137 km from Jamnagar, 217 km from Rajkot and 378 km from Ahmedabad.
- Road:-An excellent State highway links Dwarka with other cities.

The narrow street leading to the temples is lined on both the sides by vendors selling seashells, local crafts, photos of deities, cassettes, coconuts and other refreshments. The pilgrims engage in bargains after paying obeisance to the deities in an atmosphere of tranquility on this windy island.
